MDF Mekong benefits from exports thanks to the EU’s anti-deforestation regulation (EUDR)
The European Union (EU) has officially adopted Regulation 2023/111 on deforestation-free products on June 23, 2023. This regulation will take effect by the end of 2025 and aims to prevent deforestation and forest degradation globally by monitoring supply chains for agricultural and forestry products.
The regulated commodities under the EUDR include: wood, coffee, cocoa, soy, palm oil, beef, and certain by-products such as leather, chocolate, etc.
Vietnam – Low-risk group, benefits from simplified procedures
According to the EU’s assessment, Vietnam is classified as a “low-risk” country. This means that goods exported from Vietnam to the EU will be subject to simplified due diligence procedures, reducing the burden of compliance for businesses. This is a good opportunity for export enterprises, especially in the wood processing sector.
MDF Mekong – Taking advantage of EUDR benefits
MDF Mekong – a company specializing in the production of industrial wood – is facing an opportunity to expand its export market in line with EUDR requirements. Mekong wood panels are manufactured from high-quality wood materials such as rubber, eucalyptus, acacia, pine, oak, cinnamon, etc. – all from 100% legally sourced and traceable raw materials, compliant with FSC standards, ensuring sustainable and environmentally responsible sourcing.
Early compliance with strict standards also helps MDF Mekong quickly adapt to the EUDR, reduce risks in global supply chains, and enhance its reputation in international markets.
MDF Mekong’s market expansion strategy
Currently, MDF Mekong is actively boosting exports to key markets including the EU, South Korea, and Japan. With Vietnam being recognized by the EU as a “low-risk” country, the company is accelerating its market expansion strategy, creating momentum for growth in the next phase.
